Brøndby IF: Enhancing Club Legacy Digitally

How do clubs utilize a strong fan base and go about volatile economies?

Brøndby, Denmark – 2021 – How do clubs manage to get the most out of a strong and loyal fanbase? This question was part of Brøndby IF’s strategic reformation following shifting ownerships. The aim was to break existing ticketing records, bringing as many fans as possible to the West of Copenhagen to Brøndby Stadion. The aim was to center the fans in the heart of the club – such that a solid and strong fanbase would ensure stability all seasons throughout. Furthermore, Brøndby faced the Championship Playoffs and wanted to ensure as high quality as possible at home games. The partnership with NewC became a materialization of this strategy.

Together with NewC, Brøndby IF managed to increase season ticket and subscription to 18,500 signups, and their loyalty program and new ticket release strategies propelled Brøndby’s game day quality. The club managed to increase its ticket sales by 20%. Brøndby furthermore excelled this season ‘25 with a season ticket re-signup of a whole 98%. The club’s stadium utilization went from 78% to 87% in 4 years, hereby increasing fan engagement and strengthening revenue streams. Merchandise sales furthermore propelled as a result of more fans in the stadium. How? Ensuring that the most loyal fans through subscription obtained the largest amount of space in the stadium – 64% of seats occupied by season ticket holders and subscriptions.
