How Wycombe Wanderers made season tickets more accessible while securing predictable revenue

Together with NewC Sport, Wycombe Wanderers introduced one of League One’s first subscription-based season ticketing models, making games more affordable for fans while creating stable, predictable revenue for the club.

High Wycombe – 2020 – Most people in the football industry know that season ticket sales are a central factor for sustainable and predictable revenue for clubs. They provide secure revenue streams for League One and Two clubs operating under SCMP regulations. However, paying £300-400 in a lump sum can be an unviable option for financially vulnerable supporters who want to attend their favorite club’s games. This was the reality for Wycombe fans, too.

Together, Wycombe Wanderers and NewC Sport implemented a subscription-based season ticketing model in 2021 that allowed Wycombe supporters to spread their payment across 12 months while preserving all existing membership benefits. The solution integrated seamlessly into Wycombe’s existing digital ecosystem, and the club saw a 33% conversion rate to subscription payments from season ticket holders in 2021: a number that has grown to 69% in 2026.

We never feel the need to look elsewhere because we trust both the platform and the people behind it. Unlike many providers that assign you a single account manager, NewC Sport gives us access to a team of experienced ticketing professionals who are always on hand to help. As Wycombe Wanderers has evolved and grown, NewC Sport has grown with us every step of the way.

The move toward digital ticketing has significantly reduced one of the most common administrative burdens in English football: printed tickets. By introducing digital ticketing for both home and away teams, Wycombe has streamlined its ticketing operations, reduced manual administration, and made matchday access easier for its fans.

Beyond improving day-to-day operations, the subscription model has also strengthened the club’s financial position by creating more stable and predictable revenue throughout the year, allowing the club to invest in player development, state-of-the-art facilities, and community initiatives. Wycombe Wanderers has become a sought-after partner for sponsors and partners, showcasing their commitment to fan-centric strategies and innovative thinking.

Building on this digital transformation, NewC Sport and Wycombe have continued to develop the fan experience. The latest step is a fully integrated and customized ticket wallet app that enables Wycombe Wanderers supporters to store, sell, and buy tickets within one connected ecosystem. Launching this summer, the ticket wallet app is a true testament to our continuous strategic partnership and digital optimization
